The CoPs provide the regulatory governance to ensure that participating home health agencies (HHAs) protect the health and safety of individuals under their care, and promote the effective and efficient use of Medicare funds. Part one of this two-part course provides an overview of the current home health Conditions of Participation (CoPs), as well as an in-depth look at two (2) of the five (5) key areas that comprise the CoPs. Specific areas related to patient rights, and care planning and care coordination are discussed in detail along with strategies for how to implement in daily decision-making activities related to client interactions, documentation and client care are included.
