Neurodegenerative diseases result in complex issues impacting the health, function, and participation of affected individuals. Therapists must be equipped to provide best-evidence care throughout all stages of neurodegenerative diseases in an ever-changing healthcare environment. This course addresses this need by providing frameworks for rehabilitation of neurodegenerative diseases to help guide clinician decision-making regarding exercise and other treatments for clients with neurodegenerative diseases and by providing strategies to overcome barriers and facilitate sustainable exercise and physical activity in people with neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, this course addresses unique issues and challenges in caring for clients with neurodegenerative diseases as well as strategies to address those challenges. The course is targeted primarily at physical and occupational therapists in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, and home settings.
