Physical therapists, occupational therapists, and prosthetists all have unique and important roles in the rehabilitation process, which overlap but are not independent of each other. When understood and utilized appropriately, these professional responsibilities should complement one another and improve patient care. Understanding your role and scope of practice as well as those of your healthcare team colleagues will help improve functional outcomes and increase the effectiveness of your treatment sessions.
